'Knight-Hunter' Run
The Knight Hunters were my first 'batch of hilt', made simultaneously instead of one by one. The hilts were a large form version of the stunt saber I made for my wife, which was in turn based upon the famed 'Jedi-Killer' design. The hilts all featured removable grips, etched cores, exposed crystal chambers and various details and weathering to make them each unique.
Knight Hunter #3 is complete!
We are 60% of the way there The customer for this hilt didn't want a crystal chamber, but instead wanted a darker, understated look. The weathering is chipped, all the paint is blacker than the other, less polish, and the chamber is replaced with a brass plate, intended to be a 'patchwork job' over where the crystal had exploded outwards. There are small vents for internal visibility, so a faux chamber would be simulated. There is an area of exposed milled detail also replacing the crystal chamber, and the overall hilt has been blended so that it looks decidedly worn and damaged. Excited to keep these coming, 3 down, 2 to go! |
The first Knight-Hunter is completed and ready to be sent to the customer! This is a huge relief and proud moment to have the first of the run completed. There is still a lot of work left to do to get the other 4 hilts ready to ship, but this is a big milestone. Please see close ups of all the little details below, now featuring the box, and the belt clip and kyber pendants that are shipping with each hilt. |
I am planning on doing a small run of empty lightsaber hilts, inspired by the jedi killer. I have so far done 2 hilts of this style, and I've had a few requests for further commissions of them. Several of you have already expressed interest in this run, which means the world to me. I've created this page to give further details and to get more in accurate numbers of people who are interested. I will also be using this page as a build log. |
The overall shape of this hilt has a raised switch section with a thinner grip and emitter. I will be incorporating an all round shroud and hoping to keep a multi layered look. The hilts will all likely share the same base design, but the overall details and final elements will very. This may include: - Grips - Emitter shape - Shine through slots - Sound holes - Weathering - Battle damage and scarring |
