​1. Contact and Interest
 
Contact is made from you, the customer. Either for a custom design or a run spot.

If you have pictures, sketches, or a rough idea of a design, now is the time to show me!
2. Design, Discussion and Quoting

If the design is something you are requesting, I will look at the design and see if it’s doable. As I work using all manual machinery, there are some designs I am not able to accommodate, so will likely not accept these commissions to avoid disappointment.

Once I’ve accepted a design is within my capabilities, I will quote a price and rough lead time.

Please note, that while I aim to try and create your dream saber, my hope is that you've gotten in touch with me because you like my style. As the artist, I retain the right to make the saber as I see fit and keep within my capabilities.

While the overall design will be yours and I am very open to discussion, if you ask something that is based on another makers design, or isn't something that 'feels' good to me, I will not attempt it.
3. Deposit

A deposit will be taken to confirm your spot on the commission list. Any required parts and materials will be ordered at this time.

Deposits are £100, or 50% of the cost of the project, whichever is less.
4. Commission wait time

There may be a wait while commissions further up the queue are completed. At this time, design queries and small changes can be discussed.

My lead times are usually a few months from deposit to completion.

While I try and be accurate with these times, this is jot my full time job, so I work whenever I get time.

My work simply takes as long as it takes and I will do my best to keep you updated at all times.
5. Work beginning

I will begin work on the project. Once I have started on this, there will be less scope to change the design. This is because I’ve pre-laid out plans, parts and materials to create the design as already discussed.

When I begin making, my creative process and vision comes into play. I am unable to make lots of tiny specific changes to every part of the saber due to preferences.

Changes to design can also interrupt the design process.
6. Progress and updates

As I work on the hilt, I will do my best to provide regular updates and pictures of progress.
7. Completion & Final payment

When the hilt is completed, finally payment will be taken.
8. Pictures and delivery
 
I will provide a full photo album that will be posted to my website and social media accounts before packing and shipping the saber, fully tracked and insured.
Here are a few important FAQs before we begin a commission together!

- Do I provide electronics?
No. I don't provide any electronics installations. I do however make my hilts with installation in mind, so they are built to accept all the standard chassis parameters, blades and electronics.

As my hilts are unique and do not have a common internal setup, a custom chassis is recommended. I can refer you to several reputable installers for this if you don't already have someone in mind.

Postage
- I always send sabers and props tracked and signed, with full insurance cover. I will not use cheaper postage options with no tracking. When sending items to us for custom work, please also used tracked and insured postage. I also cannot reduce customs values for international shipments.
